To forge iron is one of the most ancient production techniques. The designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec concentrated on this original technique of metal processing and designed different models, whose appearance is dominated by the industrial material.
The results are frames with nine geometrical shapes. The rough and imperfect appearance of iron adds an individual appearance to the furniture of the Officina Collection.
The base of zinc-plated wrought iron holds a 17mm thick tabletop of electro-zinc-plated, powder-coated steel or a 25mm thick wooden top made of heat-treated ash wood. Both of them are also suitable to be used outside, when they are placed under a roof, but should still be protected from weather influences.
The Officina Collection by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec includes chairs, tables and stools that feature the combination of masculine materials and delicate shapes.
