" Egg Chair ": Security and privacy

The Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen inspires with its inviting look. In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This originally shaped chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture design around the world.

What is special about the so-called " Egg Chair " by Fritz Hansen is its shape, which is reminiscent of an egg shell due to the curved lines. This invites the Egg Chair invites to sit comfortably and shields the seated person to the sides and back. In addition, the backrest is curved at the upper end, reminiscent of a classic wing chair. This makes the stay in the Egg Chair becomes a private and relaxing affair, even in public places.

Originally designed for the lobby of a hotel, Arne Jacobsen's intention was to create an armchair that would fit into a high-class environment by its design and at the same time convey privacy in public places. It is perfect for reception and waiting areas - with or without footstool - as well as for the home.

The Egg Chair from Fritz Hansen is available in other variants and colors, as well as with a matching footstool.
