Timeless chair classic
The Vitra Eames Plastic Chairs are now among the absolute classics in the home. In 1950, the Eames chair was the first mass-produced plastic chair in furniture history. This makes the chair more than just a piece of furniture - it is a piece of cultural history. With different seat shells and bases, the multifunctional chair can be used in a variety of ways. A real all-rounder in the home and contract sector.
From 2024, all seat shells of the Eames Plastic Chairs from Vitra will be made from recycled post-consumer plastic from the German household waste collection "Der Gelbe Sack". Exception: the color white 04 will be made from the previous material until the end of 2024.
Classic shape - new seat height
The Eames Plastic Armchair DAX (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) is available from Vitra in many different versions, colors and with different bases. This means the chair can be put together according to your own ideas. Since 2015, the base has been available in a new height of 43 cm. This is Vitra 's response to the increase in average body height since the chair was first produced in 1950. With its adjusted height, the Plastic Side Chair by Charles and Ray Eames offers exceptional seating comfort.
Due to the slight difference in height, however, "old" and "new" versions of the chair can be mixed without hesitation, so that existing seating groups can also be supplemented with the new chairs. .
Multifunctional chair
With the restrained shape of the polypropylene seat shell and the delicate base frame, the Plastic Side and Armchairs are absolute living room classics. But the classic is not only ubiquitous in the home, but also in universities, waiting areas, cafés and other facilities.
