The Classic blanket by Elvang Denmark consists of a combination of the finest Peruvian alpaca and sheep’s wool. The high-quality blanket connects Danish design with traditional Peruvian materials and is created based on the principles of the UN Global Compact.
The fibres from which the blanket is produced by Elvang have a thickness of 26-27 micrometres, with the blanket only being able to be dry cleaned. Weighing only 600 grams, it it is light but soft and comfortable at the same time. The Classic blanket has a single colour and is classic in shape.
The Danish company Elvang strives to combine two worlds with their textiles: the fine fibre of the Peruvian alpaca, and contemporary Danish design. The result is a high-end, stylish blanket that is also manufactured in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
Elvang Denmark is a member of the UN Global Compact, the largest network worldwide for companies which take on social responsibility. Elvang stands for its principles, including human rights, fair working conditions, environmental and landscape protection as well as action against corruption.
The growth of Peruvian communities is supported through the production of the Classic blanket, and thus also the fight against poverty. The principles of the UN Global Compact simultaneously protect the alpacas, which have formed the basis of existence for rural Peruvians for centuries.
