Four contrasting colour blocks form a decorative overall pattern on the colour block blanket by Hella Jongerius for Vitra. The blanket is made from Peruvian Highland wool - wool from a crossbreed of the Merino sheep known for its soft wool and of the Corriedale sheep with its rugged wool.
With the Colour Block blankets, the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius wants to show what kind of effect the composition of warp and weft threads in the weaving process has on the colour scheme. Four more or less intense contrasting blocks form a decorative overall pattern together. The particular blend of the two thread colours can be seen at the blanket’s edges: On the short side with the colours of the fringes; on the long side on those of the stitched edges.
Thanks to its generous size, you can really make yourself comfortable with the Vitra blanket. The blanket of the Home Complements collection is a stylish home textiles with graphical charm to cuddle up on the sofa or as a special eye-catcher on the armchair or bed.
