The Classic pillowcases are made by Elvang Denmark from high quality Peruvian alpaca and sheep wool. The cushion is manufactured according to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
The pillowcase for Classic pillows by Elvang is made out of alpaca and sheep’s wool. The fine fibres have a thickness of 26-27 micrometres, with the pillowcase only being suitable for dry cleaning. As their name says, the Classic pillows are monocoloured and classic in shape.
There is also filling available for each pillow, made by the Danish company Fossfill. The cushion filling is washable at 60 degrees and can be tumble dried.
Elvang Denmark strives to connect two worlds with their textiles: the traditional wool of the Peruvian alpacas, as it has been used for centuries, and contemporary Danish design. The result is high-quality materials made from the finest alpaca and sheep’s wool, manufactured to high standards.
The Classic pillows are manufactured, like all of Elvang Denmark’s products, according to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. The UN Global Compact is the largest network worldwide for companies which take on social responsibility. As a member of this organisation, Elvang Denmark stands for the principles of the UN Global Compact, including human rights, fair working conditions, environmental and landscape protection as well as action against corruption.
The growth of rural Peruvian communities is supported through the production of these materials by Elvang Denmark, and thus also the fight against poverty. The principles of the UN Global Compact simultaneously protect the alpacas which have formed the basis of existence for rural Peruvians for centuries.
