Stainless Steel Pitcher The duck is now thin: in 1952, Henning Koppel designed a pitcher (no. 1044) for the legendary Danish silversmith Georg Jensen which resembled the shape of a fat duck. Consequently, it became popular under the name ‘the pregnant duck’ and was soon considered an absolute design classic. In 1965 Koppel evidently was influenced by himself when designing the Henning Koppel pitcher - even if the duck has gotten visibly thinner, making it appear even more august than its predecessor.
The design of the pitcher by Georg Jensen breathes sheer pride.
