The Spun Light by designer Sebastian Wrong was presented for the first time at the 2001 100% Design trade fair in London and one year later at the Salone Satellite in Milan. The simple, elegant table lamp for diffuse lighting was originally designed for the London company Drove Ltd., though has been produced by Flos since 2003 as a floor and table lamp. Spun Light was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2004.
The Spun Light table lamp is for diffuse light. The lamp body and diffuser are made from a spun metal plate, while the diffuser holder arm and lamp socket bracket are made from differently coloured aluminium alloy die casting.
The diffuser holders are made of white, injection-moulded polycarbonate (UL-94 V2). The upper diffuser shade is made of sand-blasted pressed glass.
A resistor dimmer is located on the transparent, double pole cable for adjusting the lighting from 0-100%.
The larger version, Spun Light T2, is also available on request.
