Multifunctional clampable luminaire design

Parentesi means in Italian "clamp" and describes beside the name, at the same time the principle of the ceiling spotlight of Flos . A steel cable, which is "clamped" between the ceiling and the floor, allows the height of a steel tube, to which the lamp body is attached, to be adjusted. The design of this practical lamp by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù dates back to 1970. The innovative mixture of pendant and floor lamp was awarded the coveted Golden Circle "Compasso d'Oro" in 1979.
