Multifunctional clampable luminaire design
Parentesi means "clamp" or "clip" in Italian and, in addition to the name, also describes the principle of the ceiling spotlight from Flos . A steel cable, which is "clamped" between the ceiling and floor, enables the height of a steel tube to which the luminaire body is attached to be adjusted. The design of this practical luminaire by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù dates back to 1970. The innovative mixture of pendant and floor lamp was awarded the coveted "Compasso d'Oro" Golden Circle in 1979.
