This mini edition of the globally famous design classic “Block Lamp” is always the selection of the hour if you do not wish to renounce excellent design for reasons of space.
Designed in the year 1996 by the Finnish designer Harri Koskinen, the Block Lamp is among the permanent collection exhibited by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Since the introduction of the block Lamp by Design House Stockholm, the lamp has been covered with design awards such as the Excellent Swedish Design (1999), the Design Plus Award (1999) and the Best New Product on the Accent Show in New York (1999) just to name a few.
The Block Lamp consists of hand made clear glass, produced in a sophisticated cooling process that gives the lamp its typical illusionary appeal of a massive ice cube. Both halves of the glass cover the illuminant (E 12 – 230V/15W) perfectly and ensure an atmospheric illumination on the table, in the corridor or the living room. Optionally, a wall fixture is also available. This is made of lacquered iron and converts the Block Lamp to an exclusive wall lamp.
Design House Stockholm published the lamp with different coloured textile covered electric cables marking its 10th anniversary.
