The Pedrera lamp was created in the mid-1950s. While at the time it was considered innovative in terms of design and material, today it is considered a classic. The sophisticated design has lost none of its charm over the decades.

Pedrera fits perfectly into modern settings where it creates a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. The small Pedrera H2O table lamp is the ideal size for tables and sideboards, while its striking design makes it look more like a sculpture than a lamp. When the lamp is switched on, the inner shade creates a soft glow that becomes a fascinating pattern on the outside of the shade.

The design of the Pedrera light comes from the Spanish architect and designer Barba Corsini. In 1953, he was asked by the real estate company that manages Gaudi's famous 'La Pedrera' residential building in Barcelona, ​​to design apartments for the top floor of this building.

For the Pedrera building, Barba Corsini designed 13 individual apartments, which were numbered 1 to 14 because of superstition. For these apartments, he also designed a lamp and furniture collection, which included the Pedrera lamps.

The Pedrera lamps were named after the Pedrera building, for which Barba Corsini supplied slender, cylindrical chimneys, whose shape inspired the lamps' shade. The lamp is produced today by the Danish company Gubi.
