Bench with Laminated Surface
The Copenhague CPH Deux 215 Bench of HAY is a piece of furniture that perfectly corresponds to the Scandinavian design in terms of design language and choice of materials. The Design brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec were invited to design a furniture collection for the University of Copenhagen by the Danish manufacturer HAY. It was supposed to become functional and minimalist – but due to the homely nature the minimalist pieces of the series also fit perfectly in a private home.
The special feature of the 140 cm-long bench is located in the surface finish: With the help of latest nanotechnology, HAY has developed a laminate that produces a matte soft-touch surface, which is not only extremely easy to clean, but also doesn’t get fingerprints on the seating surface. The four legs, however, are made from lacquered oak, which set natural accents.
