Series 7 – monochromatic from head to toes
The Series 7, which was designed by Arne Jacobsen 1955, is the admiral of the Fritz Hansen collection. The chair still convinces with its withdrawing appearance and the functional versatility. Fritz Hansen presents the classic chair with new colours by the artist Tal R with suitable bases in 2015 in the event of the 60th birthday of the designer.
Lacquered or painted
The seat of pressed veneer of the Series 7 is available in two variants as monochromatic edition. One of them with a varnished seat out of ash wood and another one lacquered. The difference: the painted edition keeps the typical and individual wooden grain of the seat visible, which emphasizes the natural appearance and silhouette of the Series 7. The lacquered models are special with their silky and uniform seat. The wooden grain is covered with an opaque colour-layer in this case.
Both editions – the painted and the lacquered monochromatic models – are available in the classic non-colours black and white as well as in two tones of the range of colours of the artist Tal R: Chavalier Irange, an Orient influenced orange tone which is the most exclusive of the new colours according to Tal R, and in Trieste Blue, a mix of violet and blue.
Lacquered from head to toes
The monochromatic model convinces with its unitary tranquilizing appearance. The classic four legged base appears in the same colour as the seat. The two elements of the chair become a harmonic unity this way.
The Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen deserves to belong to the classic chairs of furniture history, since the different modules, colours and bases offer many individual configurations, adapted to everyone. The chair is available in further colours and with different bases and cushions in here on demand. Also in our blog:
