‘Finally a chair by Jacobsen with 4 legs and with optional armrests!’ was the cry in the press in 1955 when Fritz Hansen presented the Series 7 by designer Arne Jacobsen. This inspiration has made so many people go for the Arne Jacobsen chair in Series 7 that it today counts as one of the highest-selling pieces of seating furniture of all time, with over five million sold.
Reason enough to create a matching seat cushion, was the logic at German company Hey Sign, where they had discovered felt as a material in 1999 and since then have created a considerable collection from this material that is just as original as it is environmentally friendly (felt is renewable).
The seat cushion for the Fritz-Hansen showpiece is also made in Germany with an anti-slip coating on the felt. The comfortable material is warm, which results in additional comfort and, in contrast to normal seat cushions, there isn’t a ‘princess and the pea’ feeling on the flat felt. Furthermore, the unobtrusive cushion is visually refined and maintains the undoubtedly unique expression of the Series 7 chair by Arne Jacobsen.
Hey Sign offers the felt seat cushions with or without an anti-slip coating as well as in multiple colours. Moreover, there are also double-stacked cushions available, with and without filling (two cushions sewn together).
