The environment counts: the Muuto Fiber Chair, designed by Iskos-Berlin is a chair made of innovative shell material, consisting of recyclable plastic and wooden fibre.
While the material of the Fiber Chair Wood Base by Muuto is completely new, the silhouette reminds us unmistakably of a big classic: the Eames Plastic Armchair. The design of the chair with wooden legs isn’t like this by chance, since each line and detail is adapted to ensure maximal comfort in minimal space The classic style ansures that the Fiber Chair fits in every dining room, at every table, in each conference room, each auditorium and office.
Muuto Fiber Chair: Classic style and innovative material
”One of the most difficult and noble disciplines is design without eccentricity. The creation of a reduced, good working, nearly simple object which still offers a lot of identity”, explained the design team of Iskos-Berlin, which comes from Copenhagen. ”We designed the Fiber Chair in order to achieve just that, with clear sculptural language which doesn’t accept to compromise regarding comfort. The chair was freed from all the unnecessary details of in-between. Perfectly made for cosy hours in it. This cult form results in a soft composition with inviting curves meeting environmentally friendly wood, which is the real and feelable heart of the Muuto Fiber Chair and which even makes it 100% recyclable.”
The bowl of the design chair by Muuto is made of a mix of 25% wooden fibre and 75% recyclable polypropylene. The frame of the Fiber Chair Wood Base is made out of oak wood.
