Classic café chair with armrests

The 209 bentwood chair by the Thonet brothers was launched as early as 1900 and is a variation of the famous 214 café chair designed by Michael Thonet , the inventor of bentwood technology. Unlike the 214 chair, the 209 model has a cantilevered bracket that is both a backrest and armrest, offering even more comfort.

chair in curved wood

The armchair is bent from solid beech wood with the help of steam and consists - like the 214 chair - of 6 parts. The seat is optionally covered with wicker, leather or fabric. The tubular mesh, which is supported by transparent and stable plastic fabric, is particularly recommended for chairs that are exposed to heavy loads.

Chair classics from Thonet

Not only the Swiss architect Le Corbusier was a lover of the 209 chair from Thonet and used it to furnish his buildings, even today you can find the classic chair made of bent wood in numerous homes and cafes, where it offers style and comfort in equal measure thanks to its high-quality workmanship.
