The Panton Chair Classic by Verner Panton for Vitra is the original version of the iconic cantilever chair. After years of searching for a manufacturer for his design of an all-plastic chair made of one cast, contact was made with Vitra as early as 1933. Together, Verner Panton and Vitra developed the Panton Chair Classic which was presented for the first time in 1967.

Made of all-plastic with a glossy finish

The Panton Chair Classic is a comfortable and flexible cantilever chair made of one piece. Under the designation Panton Chair Classic is the original version of the chair made of solid plastic with a glossy lacquer finish. This version has been in series production since the mid-60s. The chair was considered a sensation and was one of the first chairs in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
