Chimera Floor lamp - classic luminaire from the 60s with opal methacrylate diffuser
The Chimera floor lamp was designed in 1969 by Vico Magistretti for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide . The elegant wave shape makes Chimera into a special light sculpture whose white body emits warm and indirect light.
The three light sources inside Chimera illuminate the body of the luminaire with varying intensity. This elegantly accentuates the wave shape of the luminaire and emphasizes its sculptural character.
The translucent body of Artemide s Chimera floor lamp is made of methacrylate. The wavy shape of the luminaire is achieved by hot bending the material during the manufacturing process. The base is made of lacquered metal.
