Designer table lamp with wave-shaped diffuser
The Mezzachimera table lamp is the little brother of the Chimera floor lamp. It was designed in 1969 by Vico Magistretti for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide . The elegant wave shape of the lamp is emphasized by the translucent white of the body.
Mezzachimera creates indirect light. The three light sources illuminate the entire body of the luminaire from the inside with varying intensity. This elegantly accentuates the wave shape of the luminaire and emphasizes its sculptural character.
The translucent body of Artemide s Mezzachimera is made of methacrylate. The wavy shape of the luminaire is achieved by hot bending the material during the manufacturing process. The base is made of lacquered metal.
