Table Lamp – A Historic Design Makes a Comeback with the PH 1/1 Piano by Louis Poulsen

From the piano to the modern interior: The PH 1/1 Piano table lamp by Louis Poulsen revives an extraordinary design by Poul Henningsen from 1931. Originally conceived as the ideal lighting for pianists, the Piano lamp combined a curved, movable arm with a spherical counterweight, thereby providing flexible yet stable light. For the 2026 Limited Edition, the historic design was scaled down true to scale and reissued for use as a versatile table lamp.

The lamp derives its distinctive character from the PH 1/1 shade set, crafted from four layers of hand-blown glass in Dusty Terracotta with a white interior. It accentuates the organic shape of the three shades and is paired with a frame made of aged, lacquered brass. Together with the PH Centenary Chandeliers, the Piano table lamp marks the first reissue of the PH 1/1 shade set.

A swivel joint allows the lamp to be adjusted 45° backward and 25° forward. Measuring 36.4 cm in height, 16 cm in width, and 41.7 cm in length, the lamp is suitable for desks, nightstands, small side tables, or sideboards. Details such as the dark brown fabric cord, the aged brass switch, and the PH engraving underscore the historic character of this limited edition.
