The Skagen dining table from Skagerak has a solid and also elegant appeal. The timeless table with the characteristic wooden boards is a master example for Scandinavian furniture design.
The idea behind the artful furniture dates back to the golden age of Skagen, when artists like Kroyer, Ancher and Drachmann were inspired by the unique nature surrounding them and by the special light of it - since the north point of Denmark is characterized by it.
Skagerak Skagen dining table: classic and timeless
Mogens Holmriis was inspired by this classic pieces in order to design his Skagen table for Skagerak. The dining table is doubtlessly classic, while the function remains unchanged from back then: The longevity table follows the demand “Design for Generations” thanks to the excellent Skagerak quality, being suitable to be used inside or outside of the home.
The Skagerak Skagen dining table is available made of teak wood and painted in white. The white painted table is made of Sapelli wood, and both wood types are FSC®-certified, of course.
Teak wood is hard, stable and very easy to be processed. This kind of wood is also characterized by a unique amount of natural impregnated oils, which make teak more resistant against rot and fungal infestation. That’s the reason why furniture made of teak wood will survive outside during every season of the year, without needing more treatment than regular cleaning. For those of you who like to keep the pretty game of colours of the wood and desire a darker tone, we suggest treating the furniture with oil from time to time.
