The big innovation of the year at Skagerak is called Ocean. The design of the series is inspired by the thin, clear modern sailing boats and goes back tothe traditional maritime virtues like functionality and flexibility.

Combined with a unusual material choic – stainless steel and shape casted, weather proof special plastic – Ocean gets a distinctive, innovative appearance. The furnitures are for the in- and outside use and pfit into a modern house or a rather conventional ambiente. The whole series includes tables, chairs, a lounge-chair, a sunlounger, a side waggon and a café-table.

The Ocean Café-Table...

The Ocean Café-Table is also, just like the Ocean Chair, made of stainless steel and UV-proof and weather prood ASA-plastic. It has a height of 72cm and a round table plate has a diameter of 65cm. The Ocean Café-Table seems through its plain and clear design on the homely patio as good as on the beach café. In combination with the Ocean Chair offers the Café-Table a modern seating furniture, which can be used for the private and also for the object.

Design: Hans Thyge Raunkjær

Hans Thyge Raunkjær was born in 1957. He founded the Design Studio RKDO (Raunkjær Kjærgaard Design Office) in 1991. Among others he worked in Milan, wrote the book “Chairs on the Run” and received already different international design awards. Designer Hans Thyge Raunkjær
