As well as many other big architects and designers of the 20th century, Charles and Ray Eames also concentrated on developing textiles and on realizing their ideas of colours, forms and materials. The “Dot Pattern” emerged in cooperation with an exposition in the Museum of Modern Art of New York. A graphical pattern of spheres and crosses varies becoming a gorgeous composition and it is related to Charles and Ray Eames’ abstract paintings of the 1930s.
- Material: 100% merino lamb wool, made in Jacquard weaving technique.
- Characteristics; Merino lamb wool is a high class natural fibre and comes from the first shearing of the merino lamb. It is weightless, very fine, soft to be touched and it is perfectly heat compensating.
- Quality: A lot of technical and manual know-how is needed to process natural fibres. That’s the reason why the Vitra blankets are made by a German blankets manufactory which has more than 100 years of experience of work with natural fibres. The high class realization of the sketches demands a lot of handwork.
