Pott - Sarah Wiener Privatier

The Privatier is the new invention by Sarah Wiener and is the missing link for everyone who finds chef’s knives too large and vegetables knives too small. The Privatier is also available with a rare rosewood grip. The handy knife is part of the Sarah Wiener knife series that star chef Sarah Wiener has designed together with the cutlery manufacturer Pott.

Each Sarah Wiener Privatier is handmade across 90 different steps. Molybdenum vanadium steel from Solingen and a nine-step smithing process make the blade especially hard and rust-resistant as well as smooth and resilient. Thanks to the extremely sharp blade, fewer flavour carriers are destroyed when cutting meat.

With separate pre-grinding and fine grinding steps, the surface of the blade is extremely smooth and the pores on the steel are closed. This creates natural rust protection. The blades gets even more sharp through an intensive handiwork stage (grinding and polishing by hand by the blademaster) and cut testing for every knife.

The handle of the Sarah Wiener Privatier is made from good plum wood and fits nicely in your hand thanks to shape and material. The plum wood comes from Germany and is sanded and oiled by hand. The wide bolster of the bread knife works as finger protection and is simultaneously a precisely placed centre of gravity. This enables light and effortless work with the knife.

Please note: due to the valuable and sensitive materials, the Sarah Wiener Privatier by Pott cannot be cleaned in dishwashers.
