Sculptural light object made of ash wood
The Seki-Han floor lamp, designed by Tobia Scarpa, is a contemporary reinterpretation of a design from 1963 - a masterpiece that combines the warmth of wood with the precision of light. Two vertical wings made of ash wood, connected by chrome-plated metal fittings, enclose a central tubular light source that emits both direct and indirect light. By rotating the wooden wings, the light emission can be individually adjusted - symmetrically or asymmetrically - to create a unique lighting mood.
The robust base made of raw, black iron, separated from the wooden wings by a filigree bar, gives the floor lamp stability and sculptural expressiveness. The specially developed, dimmable LED light source provides soft, atmospheric light and can alternatively be replaced by standard T8 LED tubes. Inspired by traditional shipbuilding techniques, the Floor Scarpa reflects Seki-Han Floor Scarpa reflects a deep understanding of materials, proportions and craftsmanship - a poetic lighting object that combines warmth, precision and timelessness.
