The Fluid pendant lamp was created by the architecture and design office Claesson Koivisto Rune for Muuto. The design of the lamp distances itself deliberately from strict geometrical shapes and has a natural design language with soft, rounded lines.
Claesson Koivisto Rune was fascinated by the surface tension from the water and the methods of forming water drops. They let this fascination flow into the design of the Fluid pendant lamp that looks like a water drop shortly before its impact.
In use, the lamp's entire body is illuminated and emits a soft light that radiates in all directions. The shape of the Fluid light varies depending on the angle. The deliberate irregularities in style are responsible for this. Contrasting the domed upper part, the lower side of the lamp is flat. This results in the light emitted downwards being brighter.
