The Drachmann Bench from Skagerak has a solid and at the same time elegant appearance. The timeless furniture classic with the unmistakable cross in the back is a classic of Scandinavian furniture design. The design is by Bernt Santesson.
The idea of picturesque furniture can be traced back to Skagen's golden age, when artists such as Kroyer, Ancher and Drachmann were inspired by the unique nature and light that characterise the northern tip of Denmark. Pictures from this period show the first characteristic white Skagen furniture, made by local carpenters. It was this furniture and the aura surrounding it, as it stood in the beautiful gardens and picturesque nature, that inspired the modern, lacquered furniture that Skagerak produces today.
Teak is hard, stable and very easy to work with. At the same time, the wood is characterized by a unique content of naturally impregnating oils, which make the wood resistant to rot and fungal decay. This is why furniture made of high-quality teak can be left outdoors all year round without any further treatment other than regular cleaning. If you would like to preserve the beautiful play of colour in the wood and would like a darker shade, you can treat the furniture with oil. A seat cushion is also available for the Skagerak Drachmann cushion is also available for the bench.
The Drachmann bench is part of the collection of the same name from Skagerak . It is made of high quality wood and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The bench is available in different finishes.
