The Drachmann Bank of Skagerak has a solid and at the same time elegant appearance. The timeless furniture classic with the distinctive cross in the back is a classic of Scandinavian furniture design. The design is by Bernt Santesson.
The idea of the picturesque, white-painted furniture can be traced back to the golden age of Skagen, when artists like Kroyer, Ancher and Drachmann have been inspired by the unique nature and light that characterise the northern tip of Denmark. Pictures from this period show the first characteristic white Skagen furniture, made by local carpenters. It was this furniture and the aura surrounding it, as seen in the beautiful gardens and picturesque nature, that inspired the modern white lacquered furniture that Skagerak produces today.
Teak is hard, stable and very easy to process. At the same time, the wood is characterised by a unique content of natural impregnating oils, which make the wood resistant to decay and fungal attack. This is why furniture made of high quality teak can be left outside all year round, without any further treatment except regular cleaning. If you want to maintain the beautiful colour play of the wood and want a darker shade, you can treat the furniture with oil. On request Skagerak Drachmann Bench also a seat cushion available.
The Drachmann Bank is part of the collection of the same name from Skagerak . It is made of high-quality wood and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The bench is available in teak and white lacquered Sapelli wood.
