Marimekko - Alku

Marimekko - Alku Banner 3840x1440

Fresh pattern for spring

The Finnish manufacturer Marimekko inspires again this spring with a fresh, bright pattern. Alku was designed by Maija Louekari and now adorns a range of kitchen and living room textiles such as aprons, potholders and cushion covers. These not only provide real eye-catchers in the ambience, but also a dazzling mood - as it should be for spring.

The bean-like shapes in the Alku pattern represent seeds that grow into magnificent, strong flowers. They symbolise a new beginning, as spring is, hence the name Alku - "beginning" in Finnish. The pattern is printed in Helsinki.
