Armchair with sled base
The Cité armchair from Vitra is a design by the French designer and constructor Jean Prouvé, originally created as part of a competition for the furniture of the student dormitory in the Cité Universitaire of Nancy.
The armchair is characterized by its extravagant steel sheet skid frame, which is both armrest and feet. The frame is covered with a leather belt, which relativizes the hardness of the material and provides a harmonious overall ensemble.
