With the Works free-standing rack, String presents a flexible shelving system that offers storage space in the office as well as in the living room.

Flexibility is essential in modern work environments. The free-standing shelf from the Works Collection offers as much flexibility as one is already used to from String. Thereby, the shelf - depending on the choice of boards - can be individually configured.

Room divider & shelf

The adaptable freestanding shelf is exactly like the original String shelf system : flexible in use - time and time again. It can also be excellently combined with other products from the Swedish manufacturer, but works just as well on its own. It can be simply placed against the wall when drilling holes for a shelf is not an option. It can also be used as a room divider, or as a classic freestanding shelf - single or double shelving with openings on both sides.

The shelves from the freestanding String Works shelf can be placed freely in order to provide enough space for its content. Since the shelf boards are the same as the ones from the String shelving system, the two shelves can be combined wonderfully.

Shelf with sound-absorbing function

Of course, the String Freestanding Shelf is also equipped with well-thought-out details: the back wall made of felt is suitable for reducing noise in offices or open living spaces. The foot rest is also adjustable, so uneven surfaces are not a problem. As you can see: the possibilities of the updated shelf classic by Björn Dahlström and Anna von Schewen are almost unlimited.

The felt wall is the foundation of the freestanding shelf and is necessary for any String work shelf construction. Without the felt panel, the shelf can not be built.
