Flos - Taccia LED Table Lamp (PMMA)

Small Version of the Classic

The Taccia lamp is a genuine design classic, which now appears in a LED version as a medium-sized table and floor lamp. The design comes from the designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and was developed already in 1958, before the light went into series production in 1962.

In an interview from 1970, Achille Castiglioni about Taccia: “For us, this lamp is the Mercedes-Benz among luminaires; a symbol of success, possibly because the socket looks like an ancient pillar. When we designed the Taccia light, however prestige was not in the focus. It essentially concerned a surface that stays cool.

Indirect and Diffuse Lighting

The table or floor lamp offers an indirect and reflected illumination, as well as an adjustable PMMA diffuser. The LED lamp in the socket of the lamp gives the light on to the mouth-blown glass body reflector plate, which then distributes the light. Thanks to the adjustable glass bowl, the light allows to be directed in the desired direction. While the transparent bowl diffuses the light freely, the gloss white aluminium reflector panel creates diffused light. Due to a switch dimmer on the lamp’s cable, the light intensity can be regulated depending on your preference, creating, in addition to a bright lighting, a cosy atmosphere.

A Variety of Uses

The luminaire with a height of 54 cm is both suited as opulent nightstand or desk lamp or as floor lamp in the hallway or living room. The lamp enhances any interior setting with its skillfully designed proportions, harmonious design and a high degree of timelessness.
