Outdoor table made of acrylic stone
Eero Saarinen wanted to clean up. With the "ugly, confusing, restless world" that was under tables and chairs: The tangle of legs had always bothered the Finnish architect and designer. It took him five years of trial and error and modeling Saarinen before he presented the finished form of his Pedestal Collection made of one-legged furniture to the public.
Initially, only the world-famous Tulip Chair was named after the tulip, but today the accompanying table is also known as the "Tulip Table", because the collection of one-legged furniture from Knoll is inseparable. Designed in 1956 Saarinen With its clear, sculptural and organic form, the table, designed in 1956, is a prime example of timelessness that can still be found in countless museums, hotels and galleries around the world today.
Knoll manufactures the Saarinen outdoor table with a frame made of cast aluminum with Rilsan coating and a table top made of acrylic stone, a mixture of aluminum, acrylic resin and natural pigments. The aluminum gives the tabletop strength, while the plastic ensures easy cleaning, water resistance and color fastness. These properties make the Saarinen outdoor table the perfect companion on the terrace, balcony and in the garden.
The Saarinen outdoor table with a diameter of 120 cm is suitable for up to four people.
