Leaning Floor Lamp
Marie-Louise Gustafsson’s Mañana Lamp seems to come straight out of a comic book, a cheeky caricature that leans on a wall and is just waiting for someone to switch it on. Because why shouldn’t a lamp have its own strong character – a graphite grey stick-figure portrait with the power of entertaining people?
Marie-Louise’s approach mimics her everyday self, which is particularly reflected in the lamp’s adjustable shade. “I rarely have idea as fast as this one, but the idea for the Mañana Lamp struck me like lightning. I had been working too hard before an exhibition and moved my body into different positions in order to relax and to change my perspective. And suddenly this particular position came to me, as if out of a sketch book. I immediately ran to the workshop!“
