Scandinavian design is usually famous for its simple elegance. Louise Campbell’s work is also extremely elegant, but it isn’t really simple. “Playful” or “experimental” would rather describe it all. This mixture could lie in the roots of her being daughter or an English and a Danish. Since she grew up in both countries, the born Copenhagen isn’t a pure Scandinavian artist. Her objects only profit from that.

Louise Campbell graduated in the London College of Furniture in 1992 and went back to Denmark where she studied Industrial Design at the Danish design school until graduating in 1995. She founded her own design office in 1996 and since then she worked independently. She mainly focussed on furniture and light design. Campbell already worked for Muuto, Royal Copenhagen and Stelton as well as some more namely manufacturers.

One motto of the designer explains: Everything is possible, as long as the opposite isn’t proved. This open maxim is viewable in the works of Louise Campbell that set new accents with it again and again.
