HAY Design - Furniture and accessories from Denmark

The Danish design brand HAY was founded in 2002 and first came into the public eye at IMM Cologne 2003. The company from Horsens can therefore look back on a relatively short history - especially in comparison to some of its legendary Danish competitors.

One might assume that the designers around namesake Rolf HAY would have a particularly subversive attitude towards classic Scandinavian design. However, this is not the case. Instead, the aim is to revive Danish furniture design from the fifties and sixties. Because it was precisely during this period, known as Danish Modern, that our neighbors to the north were able to establish themselves as a leading design nation.

Instead of simply copying the old masters, HAY aims to further develop classic design in a modern, contemporary context. This goal is pursued in cooperation with young, up-and-coming but also well-known international designers and has already been crowned with success after the first few years.

Successful collaborations have created unique HAY furniture

The collaboration between HAY and the designers is exemplary: the Copenhague collection, for example, was created in close cooperation with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and served the purpose of equipping the University of Copenhagen with new functional and aesthetically convincing furniture. In collaboration with designer Sebastian Wrong, a complete sub-brand called Wrong for HAY was created, which was presented to the public for the first time at the London Design Festival 2013.

Another feature of HAY Design is the range of products: HAY's range is characterized by a unique diversity. In addition to furniture such as the now iconic About A Chair and complete sofa landscapes, you will also find a host of everyday items such as bed linen, glass products, office accessories and decorative items.
