Each home reflects the character and the personality of its inhabitants. Characterised by constancy and change, unique collages are created that make each of us again and again to the author of our own home stories.
This notion accompanies Vitra and his designers already for several generations: starting with Charles and Ray Eames, Jean Prouvé and Verner Panton up to contemporary designs by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Hella Jongerius, Jasper Morrison and Edward Barber as well as Jay Osgerby.
Various Home Stories came into being over the years and they are as individual as their protagonists. So far the Home Stories locations were based in Stockholm, Berlin, London, Rome, Barcelona and other distinctive places. At each home story new designs encounter familiar classics and beloved collectibles with personal charm. This creates an individual collage of history and future, a mix of old and new, with which anyone can write his own home story.
New Products for Winter 2016/17: Armchair with New Fabrics
For the Home Stories 2016/17, the Vitra Home Collection is refreshed with bold colours, selected fabrics and warm woods.
For the first time, the Grand Repos is available in the soft "Nobile" fabric, which is exclusively limited on the winter edition. The fabric gives the chair a classic touch and is reminiscent of the elegant lobby of the Grand Hotel. The smooth velour fabric combines a luxurious, light shimmering with the advantages of warm wool.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of production of the lounge chair, the iconic design from Ray & Charles Eames is now available with a Twill cover for a limited time only. The here used twill fabric, a fabric from the Vitra colour & material library - gives the chair a warm and cosy character.
Thus, as part of the Home Stories winter 2016/17 by Vitra, the armchair is a special collector's item, coming with a corresponding certificate saying "60 years of production".
