Fiskars is a Finnish company that develops, produces and distributes consumer goods for house and garden. The company has a wide portfolio of international brands such as Iittala and Gerber.
Fiskars looks back on a long history, as Fiskars is the oldest existing company of Finland. Fiskars was founded in 1649 by Dutchman Peter Thorwöste as an ironwork in the eponymous city in the south of Finland. Nails, knives, rakes and other metal tools were part of the product portfolio of Fiskars at the time.
Fiskars became successful in 1967 with the first scissors that had a plastic handle. A products that has meanwhile sold more than one billion times.
Today, Fiskars belongs to the worldwide leading companies of consumer goods for household and garden.
