Katja Horst

Katja Horst, product designer at Reisenthel, was born in 1967 in Munster/Westphalia and studied product design at the University for Design in Munster.

Since 1992, Katja Horst is responsible for the product design of the company Reisenthel Accessoires. Besides many other products, she developed the Umbra line made out of recycled leather and later the Claro line out of polypropylene, Products like Paravents or the line Redondo followed. Last year, the Carrybag – a high-tech shopping basket made of hard-wearing polyester with an aluminium frame– obtained a special acceptance.

When designing, Katja Horst often combines uncommon materials from other application ranges – always focusing on the aspect of environmental friendliness.

All products made by Katja Horst stand for intelligent solutions in everyday life and have been awarded several design prizes, among them the Design Plus and the Red Dot.
