Both architects and designers Nicoletta Rossi (born in Milan in 1961) and Guido Bianchi (born in Florence in 1970) started their professional career concentrating on illumination projects and prototypes.
Guido Bianchi already worked in London and Sao Paolo before he cooperated with Nicoletta Rossi. Rossi worked as a publisher and teacher at the Politecnico in Milan i.a, before founding the studio.
Both Italians worked with different companies and organisations in their hometown and abroad and after many years of cooperation and experience with the architecture studio Piero Castiglioni, they founded their own company Rossi Bianchi Lighting Design in 2006 in Milan.
Their designs must primarily meet functional criteria, but research also encompasses non-measurable aspects that influence the visual and emotional perception of space.
