Nygårds Maria Bengtsson was born in Mora, Sweden in 1968. That’s the region where nature is all around: many deep forests, lakes and mountains are here, all of them some permanent inspiration sources for Nygårds.
Bengtsson finally studied because of her nature-closeness, she graduated in 1997 at the University for Arts, Handicraft and Design in Stockholm. In the meantime the graphic designer also studied at the UIAH / University of Industrial Art Helsinki and at the DKDS / Danmarks Design-Skole in Copenhagen.
Nygårds Maria Bengtsson lives and works as free designer in her own studio in COpenhagen since 1998.
Graphic design projects, such as books, layouts, logos and corporate identities for companies and editorials, as well as designs for glass and ceramic print and pattern design for textiles belong to the projects of the Swedish designer. Most of the illustrations of magazines, books and journals by Bengtsson are model illustrations. She works at larger projects together with other designers, such as the industrial furniture designer Thomas E. Alken.
Nygårds Maria Bengtsson founded the design office RHG3 together with nine further designers in 2008, all of them working together or alone at projects today.
