
Jörg Adam
Born in 1968 in Dusseldorf. From 1990 to 1996 he studied industrial design at the »College for Visual Arts Hamburg« and at the »Art College Berlin-Weißensee, College for Design«, where he finished his diploma at Prof. Helmut Staubach and Prof. Dr. Heinz Hirdina.
From 1996 to 1998 he worked as industrial-designer at Mediport Design, Berlin. In 1998 he founded the design office Adam and Harborth together with Dominik Harborth in Berlin.
He lives and works in Berlin.
Dominik Harborth
Born in 1968 in Freiburg in Breisgau. From 1990 to 1996 he studied Industrial Design at the »College for Visual Arts Hamburg« and at the »College Berlin-Weißensee, College for Design«, where he finished his diploma at Prof. Helmut Staubach and Prof. Dr. Heinz Hirdina.
From 1996 to 1998 he worked as a freelance industrial-designer in Hamburg and Berlin. In 1998 he founded the design office Adam and Harborth together with Jörg Adam in Berlin.
He lives and works in Berlin and Munich.
Jörg Adam and Dominik Harborth founded the design office Adam and Harborth in 1998 in Berlin. They worked in product- and graphic design and also developing exhibitions and design oriented teaching material.
Adam and Harborth are in charge of their offices in Berlin and Munich of the product lines of different customers. Their works for Konstantin Slawinski are worth mentioning - housewarming objects. The SL- accessories-collection is created and improved. throwzini, clote and xyz were shown at the Ambiente 2005 in Frankfurt.

To their customers belong: Very Lustre – Diamond Cutting, Konstantin Slawinski, Autostadt Wolfsburg, Blindenanstalt von Berlin, BSO – Berliner Sinfonie Orchester, Fink Medien AG, Landeshauptstadt München – Fremdenverkehrsamt, rap.ID, Deutsches Klingenmuseum, Theater Freiburg, details, Swatch, Siemens, Thonet among others.
They taught in product design at the College of Arts, Berlin; the École des Beaux-Arts, Saint-Étienne (France); the College for Design, Karlsruhe; the College for Technique and Economy, Dresden; the College for Arts Berlin-Weißensee; the Escola Superior de Artes e Design Berlim na Bahia, Salvador (Brazil); the Funda Community Center, Soweto (South Africa) and at the Esti Art Academy Tallinn (Estonia).
Awards:
For their works they have received many prizes, such as the »Mart-Stam-Preis«, a special award at the »Lucky Strike Junior Designer Award« and at the »nachlux – Competition for Innovative Light Design«.
In 2006 their design »clote« was nominated by the Council of Design for the selection »World Champion – Design Germany«. Their chopping board series „hikhak“ was shown in the special show »Form 2006«, in the event of the Tendence Lifestyle 2006 in Frankfurt.
