Tolix Chair A56 Steel

Jean Pauchard is a French designer who, in 1948, took over the Tolix firm after the sudden death of his father. Shortly after the end of World War I, Xavier Pauchard founded a company specialising in the production of galvanised household articles made of tin sheet.
In 1927, he had the Tolix brand protected and focused on the production of seating made of sheet.

Jean continued to run the company and decisively contributed to the iconic design of Tolix with his A56 armchair from 1956.
Today, Tolix's metal chairs are one of the most famous designs made of metal.
