Yaacov Kaufman was born September 10th 1945 in the ancient U.D.S.S.R. From 1945 to 1957 he lived in Poland.
In 1957 he immigrated to Israel and lives in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Milan today.
He graduated at the Bat-Yam Institute of Art in Sculpture. Since 1994 he is professor for Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem.
Yaacov Kaufman owns several patents for moving arm-structures of lamps, furniture and exhibition designs, ergonomic seats, design oriented technologies such as e.g. wooden tops and others.
He works in cooperation with Italian and other European manufacturers in product-, furniture- and lamp design, like Lumina Italia, Tecno, Arflex, Porro, Luxo or serien.lighting, to name only some of them.
