Doris Grassmann considers design as essential life theme, the handicraft realization as her path, to transfer her ideas into reality. The Hessen born designer makes jewellery, graphic and web design as well as texts and urban development.
Doris Grassmann makes jewellery since 1978. She tried many facets of creative creations along the years. To work as goldsmith was thereby only one step, but the most constant one. Grassmann’s jewellery changed a lot along the years – She always focussed on new aspects of creating and designing, this was more important to her than to keep a constant recognisability of her work.
Grassmann was interested in the emotional values of things she made. The feelings she enabled. The film the user sees; the associations that emerge, the interior travel to a place of happiness and wellbeing… The pure formality bored her. Thereby she has her very own design language, favourite materials and techniques.
Besides the design of jewellery, Doris Grassmann also works as graphic and web designer and discovered her love for texting. The Hessen born is also active regarding interior furnishing and urban development of her hometown Ortenberg.
